The first deliveries of Toyota's new electric vehicle, the Toyota bZ4X, will begin this summer, according to the company.

The new Toyota bZ4X has a range of up to 516 kilometers (320 miles) in front-wheel drive and 470 kilometers (292 miles) with all-wheel drive.

It is the first of a series of new bZ (Beyond Zero) models built on a specific new platform for battery electric vehicles based on the eTNGA philosophy. Featuring a sleek look, roomy packaging, and true SUV performance. It also introduces a revolutionary all-wheel drive system that employs independent electric motors on the front and back axles to provide exceptional performance.

The official, homologated WLTP* data show the front-wheel drive model accomplishing up to 516 km on a fully charged battery, with an efficiency rating of 14.3 kWh/100 km or 7.0 km/kWh, thanks to efficient motors and energy management. The official range of the all-wheel-drive bZ4X is 470 kilometers, with a 15.8 kWh/100 km or 6.3 km/kWh efficiency.

The bZ4X's 71.4 kWh battery, designed with the advantage of a quarter-century of Toyota electrified vehicle technological knowledge, enables this level of performance. The battery's quality is backed up by an optional extended care program for owners that guarantees 70 percent battery capacity after 10 years or 1,000,000 kilometers travelled.
