Samsung's new flagship Galaxy laptops will have better speed and professional-level security thanks to a collaboration between Microsoft, Intel, and Samsung.
At Mobile World Congress on Sunday, Samsung introduced the new Galaxy Book 2 Pro laptop and Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 two-in-one, as well as a non-Pro Galaxy Book 350 and the Galaxy Book 2 Business. The latest models follow Samsung's announcement of the Galaxy S22 phones and Galaxy Tab S8 tablets at its Unpacked presentation in February. Along with enhanced connectivity amongst all of the new Galaxy smartphones, Samsung has made some interesting changes on the interior to make them seem more Pro than previous year's versions.
Samsung collaborated with Intel and Microsoft to not only create a superb mobile experience but also to make them function smoothly with other Galaxy devices and applications, as it did with the first-generation Galaxy Book Pro notebooks. The laptops, for example, can immediately connect to your Galaxy Buds, act as a wireless secondary display for your Galaxy Tab S7 or S8, and run mobile apps from your Galaxy phone.
Single sign-on with your Galaxy account to access applications, settings, and content across all of your devices is available on the upgraded laptops. You can now view the last applications you used on your phone in the Microsoft Your Phone app, making it easier to transfer from your phone to your laptop. Private Share, which allows you to share files with timed links and the option to revoke access to files, and Samsung Multi Control, which lets you use the laptop's keyboard and touchpad to text and operate on a Galaxy Tab S8 tablet, are my two favorite improvements.

Many high-end laptops include some additional data protection, but Samsung went above and beyond to make them the first consumer PCs to exceed Microsoft's secure-core PC criteria out of the box. When you turn on the Galaxy Book 2 Pro, the hardware, firmware, and software all work together to ensure that everything is safe and secure. You'll be protected to a similar extent as if you were using a corporate business laptop. For further biometric protection, Samsung employed a match-on-chip fingerprint reader.
Both the Pro and the Pro 360 (which includes a touchscreen and a 360-degree hinge) will be available in 13.3- and 15.6-inch sizes and Samsung is staying with 16:9 panels this time around, even though other PC manufacturers are transitioning to taller 16:10 displays. They all have 1080p AMOLED displays (but the Pro 360s have Super AMOLED touchscreens), and Samsung increased the brightness to 500 nits, which is 33% brighter than the previous versions. The Samsung S Pen is bundled with the Pro 360 two-in-ones, which are also pen-enabled.
All of the models will feature 12th-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, as well as up to 32GB of memory and 1TB of SSD storage. Samsung will only offer an Intel Arc option for the 15-inch Galaxy Book 2 Pro if you want discrete graphics. Larger vents and AI-driven cooling should also help keep these slim small laptops cool. The laptops can play video for up to 21 hours on a single charge, according to Samsung, and can be changed swiftly with the bundled 65-watt USB-C charger.
Samsung included 1080p cameras with a wider-angle lens for an 87-degree field of vision, which is a major feature upgrade from last year. Samsung's Studio Mode camera software now has an auto-framing option that keeps you in the picture even if you move around, as well as background effects such as blur. However, the Galaxy Book 2 360 (non-Pro) retains its lower-resolution camera.
Samsung's Galaxy Book 2 Pro and Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 notebooks will be released on April 1, although preorders will begin on March 18. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 will be available in burgundy, graphite, and silver colors, with a starting price of $1,250. In graphite and silver, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro will cost $1,050. For the Pro 360, that translates to around £935 and AU$1,730, while for the Pro, it's around £785 and AU$1,460.
When it launches on April 1, the non-Pro Galaxy Book 2 360, which has a single 13.3-inch screen option, will cost $900. It also boasts a 12th-generation Intel CPU, an AMOLED display, and S Pen compatibility. The Business model, which features a new 14-inch display and Intel vPro compatibility, will be available in the Spring at an undetermined price.
