Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4: What We Know So Far

According to rumors, Samsung's upcoming foldable phone would once again lack a San Pen slot.

Along with the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung's tablet-sized foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold 3, is the company's most current bendy phone. However, a predicted Galaxy Z Fold 4 will certainly deliver further foldable smartphone advances in 2022. While we wait for the next foldable phone to arrive, we're putting together a list of the most believable rumors to see what's in store.

Here's everything we know so far about the Galaxy Z Fold 4's pricing, new features, and possible specifications. As additional information becomes available, we'll update this article.

Design: The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will not have an S Pen slot.

The Galaxy Fold range, without a question, is a fantastic demonstration of technology and ingenuity. But there's one catch: unlike the Galaxy Z Flip 3 or even the Galaxy Note series, Samsung's top-of-the-line foldable isn't inherently practical. For example, the Galaxy Fold 3 didn't have a space for the S Pen, and according to reports, the Galaxy Fold 4 won't have one either. Those who utilize it will still need to figure out how to transport their Samsung stylus safely.

We're crossing our fingers that the leakers were completely incorrect on this one. We'd love to see a holder in the Galaxy Fold 4 or, better yet, a mechanism to magnetically connect the S Pen to the Fold 3's hinge, similar to how an Apple Pencil can be attached to an iPad Pro.

However, the Galaxy Fold 4 may include a dual-sided fingerprint reader.

The Galaxy Fold 3 is the first foldable phone to have a fingerprint sensor, which is situated on the right side of the device. It serves as a power button and is accessible whether the gadget is closed or open.

According to maybeDutchthe newspaper  Lets Go Digital, the fingerprint reader may be on the move and maybe may be positioned beneath the screen instead. Samsung plans to process the fingerprint reader in such a way that it can be used as a double-sided fingerprint sensor that can be used on the cover screen (when the handset is folded shut) as well as when it is unfurled to a tablet-size device, according to a patent filed in March last year by the Dutch publication. It may allegedly be utilized from the center bottom of the display on the cover screen, and when unfurled, it will be on the center bottom of the left screen, according to the claim.

Cameras: On the cover and internal displays of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, there will be under-display cameras.

The Galaxy Fold 3 is also the first folding phone from Samsung to have an under-display camera. It's one of five cameras on the gadget, and it's hidden behind the huge internal display. According to reports, the Galaxy Fold 4 will have five cameras, but this time there will be two under-display cameras, at least according to one Korean leaker known as yeux1122.

This is another rumor I hope is false (unless Samsung's technology improves dramatically), as the Galaxy Fold 3's under-display camera was its weakest link in terms of photo quality. Indoor pictures shot with the Galaxy Fold 3 appeared "extremely processed," according to CNET's Patrick Holland, and even outside photographs in decent lighting didn't seem much better.

Price: The Galaxy Fold 4 might be less expensive in the future.

Many of the top-of-the-line foldable on the market now cost closer to $2,000, putting them out of reach for the ordinary buyer. One significant factor that will need to alter if Samsung and its competitors want their bendy gadgets to reach the mainstream substantially is the pricing. If reports are true, this may be the case.

The price of the Galaxy Fold 4 will be reduced, according to the same Korean leaker. More information was not provided by the leaker. Given the Fold lineup's track record, there's a good possibility the Fold 4 won't come with as much price shock as its predecessors.

Although the Fold 3 is the most expensive phone Samsung has announced this year, it is still less than the Fold 2 from last year and the original Fold from 2019. The Fold 3 has a starting price of $1,800 in the United States, which is $200 less than the Fold 2's debut pricing. The 256GB edition of the Z Fold 3 will cost £1,599 in the UK, while it will cost AU$2,499 in Australia. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 3's launch price was cut by about $400.
