BMW has issued a recall for over 917,000 vehicles owing to a risk of engine fire.

According to papers submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website on March 2, the recall affects certain 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, Z4, X3 SAV, AND X5 SAV vehicles from the 2006 to 2013 model years.

The bulk of the cars were previously recalled for the same issue in 2017 and 2019. Owners who had their cars repaired before will need to have them repaired again.

Despite the fact that BMW has received eight complaints of fires since early 2019, the firm claims there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

"By mid-2022, the fix and an adequate quantity of components are expected," an automotive official told FOX Business on Thursday. "In the meanwhile, consumers may continue to drive their automobiles because the risk of failure is quite low."
